HD content for online users from Akamai
Akamai Technologies has already developed a new web portal dubbed "TheHDWeb." The service has been designed to offer a broad genre of content options from networks such as Apple, MTV, BudTV, BBC Motion Gallery, CBS and the NBA.
Our opinion: There is no arguing HD looks awesome, when it is setup correctly and streamed from a proper HD source. But that's not always the case. Many companies have rushed their products to get them on the shelves as fast as possible to capitalize on the HD Craze. We can't wait until everything has gone HD and is properly streamlined from one device to another.

Some "indies" struggle to take the hi-def dive
Independent film artists, or indies, are shying away from diving head first into the hi-def format world. For many, the high cost for reproducing their films in Blu-ray or HD DVD formats is preventing these independent distributors from entering the marketplace.
